What exactly takes place in Sunday School? There are many forms that Sunday School takes through a variety of activities that fall under the umbrella of Sunday School. Each one of those is intended to take the individual participating into an ever deepening relationship with Jesus Christ. Sunday School doesn't happen just on Sunday morning. It can take place any time and any where - Wednesdays at the church building during Caravan, at a small group Bible study in someone's home on any given night (or morning, or afternoon), at a nursing home or assisted living center, during children's Bible quizzing, and a number of other places or events. Sunday School is a time when God's Word is taught to open hearts and minds. And, by the way, Sunday School does still take place on Sunday mornings. On the Wisconsin District Church of the Nazarene, there are two divisions to the Sunday School ministry, Children and Adults. Under the banner of Children's ministries are Bible Quizzing, Vacation Bible School (VBS), Caravan, Talent Day, Summer Camp and traditional Sunday morning Sunday School. The Adult Ministries encompasses a wide age group ranging from college graduates to Senior Adults. In addition to Sunday morning Sunday School classes that are both age and topic specific, there are small groups that meet Sunday evenings or during the week at various times. The annual Layperson's retreat as well as the Ladies' and Men's retreats are also a part of Adult Sunday School ministries. There are many opportunities available for both children and adults to grow in the knowledge of our Savior and Lord, Christ Jesus.
